Best web-to-print options for Magento / Adobe Commerce (2026)

The honest Magento W2P landscape: dedicated extensions, standalone platforms with connectors, headless API integration — and when re-platforming the storefront is actually cheaper.

PrintIntegrator Team · Product & engineering

Up front, for transparency: PrintIntegrator does not ship a native Magento edition — our native platforms are Odoo, Shopify, and WooCommerce. That makes this round-up easier to trust: on Magento we're mostly recommending other people's software, plus one honest path to ours. Magento (Adobe Commerce) remains common in mid-market B2B print, so the question deserves a straight answer.

Option 1: dedicated Magento W2P extensions

A handful of vendors ship Magento-native product designers as extensions. The strongest track records belong to the apparel-and-promo-focused vendors — Design'N'Buy's Magento offering and InkXE's Magento integration have the longest deployment histories.

**Strengths**: native checkout, native catalog, no iframe, no second database.

**Risks**: extension quality varies with Magento version churn — every Adobe Commerce upgrade is a compatibility test. Ask any vendor for reference customers on your exact Magento version, and ask what their upgrade SLA was for the last two Adobe releases. Our [Design'N'Buy](/compare/printintegrator-vs-design-n-buy) and [InkXE](/compare/printintegrator-vs-inkxe) comparisons cover the vendors themselves.

Option 2: standalone W2P platforms with Magento connectors

OnPrintShop and Aleyant Pressero both connect to Magento via API — products sync in, orders sync back. This gets you a mature W2P feature set without betting on extension compatibility.

**Strengths**: the W2P platform upgrades independently of Magento; deep feature sets from a decade of development.

**Risks**: the sync boundary. Inventory, pricing, and order-state drift between two databases is manageable at low volume and an operational tax at high volume. Our [OnPrintShop](/compare/printintegrator-vs-onprintshop) and [Pressero](/compare/printintegrator-vs-aleyant-pressero) comparisons go deeper.

Option 3: SaaS personalizers embedded in Magento

Zakeke and Customily both offer Magento integration via embedded configurator. Fastest to live (days, not months), lowest commitment, monthly pricing.

**Best for**: Magento stores adding personalization to a handful of products, rather than running print as the core business. For a full print operation, the per-order economics and the iframe integration model wear thin at scale — the same trade-offs as on any platform ([Zakeke vs Customily breakdown](/blog/zakeke-vs-customily)).

Option 4: headless — any W2P engine via API

Magento's GraphQL/REST APIs make headless integration viable for engineering-led teams: keep Magento as catalog + checkout, run the personalization engine as a service, exchange orders and print-ready files via API.

This is the route by which PrintIntegrator lands on Magento — the designer and print-ready pipeline run from our engine, Magento keeps commerce. It's real engineering work (typically 4-8 weeks alongside our open API) and only worth it for operations that specifically need press-grade output, brand-kit control, or multi-vendor routing that the extension ecosystem doesn't offer. We'll say plainly: if a native extension covers your needs, take the extension.

Option 5: the question nobody asks — should print stay on Magento?

If you're running Adobe Commerce primarily because of history, and the print business is the growth engine, compare the cost of a heavy Magento W2P integration against re-platforming the print storefront entirely. A surprising number of mid-market shops conclude that a purpose-built print storefront on [Odoo](/products/odoo-web-to-print) (ERP included) or [WooCommerce](/products/woocommerce-web-to-print) costs less than two years of Magento extension maintenance — especially when Adobe Commerce license renewal is on the table anyway.

That's a bigger decision than a software round-up can make for you. The [2026 buyer's guide](/blog/best-web-to-print-software-2026) has the full evaluation framework, and the [ROI calculator](/tools/roi-calculator) prices the options at your volume.

Decision rules

  • Personalization on a few products, Magento stays the core → Zakeke or Customily embedded
  • Full W2P, committed to Magento, willing to manage extension compatibility → Design'N'Buy or InkXE Magento editions
  • Full W2P, want platform independence from Magento upgrades → OnPrintShop or Pressero via connector
  • Press-grade output + engineering capacity → headless engine via API (PrintIntegrator plays here)
  • Magento is legacy and print is the future → price a re-platform before a heavy integration
