Why ShipStation

ShipStation handles the shipping side — label printing, carrier rate shopping, batch fulfillment, tracking notifications. PrintIntegrator handles the design side. Connect the two and your fulfillment workflow runs end-to-end.

Get ShipStation credentials

In ShipStation, go to Account → API Settings. Copy the API Key and API Secret. You'll paste these into PrintIntegrator next.

Connect from PrintIntegrator

Open PrintIntegrator → Settings → Integrations → ShipStation. Paste the API key and secret. Choose what data to push:

- Order details — always pushed
- Print-ready PDF attached as a custom field — recommended
- Internal notes (substrate, finishing, deadline) — recommended

Save the integration.

Configure routing rules

Decide which orders go to ShipStation. The simplest rule: all orders. More common: orders for in-house production go to ShipStation; orders for partner fulfillment go elsewhere.

Set the rule in Settings → Routing → ShipStation. Use product tags to control routing (e.g., tag "shipstation" pushes; tag "partner-x" routes to partner X instead).

Verify the flow

Place a test order. Within 30 seconds it should appear in your ShipStation orders queue with the print-ready file attached as a custom field. The custom field is named "PrintReadyFile" by default and contains a secure URL to the file.
